Update 11/19

Hello there.

Stay tuned (if that's the appropriate way to say it) to this blog, the new Painful Leg Injuries album, If The Devil's In The Details Then How Many Details Can You Fit Upon A Match?, will be available very soon. This album is the second full-length CD-R release by the PLI on OKSRNA, and the fourth release by the label so far. It will be packaged with a DVD-R with music videos directed by Matthew Lancit, John Ibarra, Jonah Goldstein and Bill Byrne (me). To listen a sample tracks from Devil click the links below:

Every Minute Of Everyday Someone Is Having An Apocalypse

I Did Not Agree With The Prophets

New podcasts are up, next weekend, we will be taking off to celebrate the American Thanksgiving. The Unevenness of the Moon's Surface treats us to more time expanded skronk fests with Wire Mesh, seriously evil. El Plan De Aguavodka's Interrogation Part 5 is gorgeous crescendo that rises from a whisper to a cacaphony. The Painful Leg Injuries explore the ghosts of the future lost childhood of imagined children with Years After This Backyard's Last Laughter.

Also check out this download by our new artist, avant garde guitarist and electronic composer Marco Oppedisano. From his live performance at NYC's The Monkey on October 28th, check out Duo With Playback. Performing with Marco is keyboardist Joe Bartolozzi. It's pretty amazing, give it a listen.

We return with new podcasts on December 3rd.

Update 11/12

Welcome back, everyone.

El Plan De Aguavodka's 4th part of his Interrogation series is a an awesome beast of noise, lovely and deafening.

Have you ever imagined what Lil' Jon would sound like at -33 bpm? Yeah, me neither, but the Unevenness of the Moon's Surface continues his fascination with life in the slowest motion possible with his crunked up "How You Goin' Do Me Dirty Like Dat?"

In the second part of the latest podcast series by the Painful Leg Injuries, listen as we turn pots and plans played by forks into a Tom Waits backing track.

Take care, and enjoy, more new podcasts next week.

11/5 Update

Welcome back again everyone. First, I want to thank the radio show, "It's Too Damn Early" for once again playing some OKSRNA music. On the last show, ITDE played the first 21 tracks from
Men In White Coats
!

Next, congratulations to new OKSRNA artist, Marco Oppedisano for packing NYC's the Monkey on October 28th. He also got a nice blurb in Tme Out New York. Stay tuned to this site for updates on what Marco will be doing.

This week marks the 60th episode of The Painful Leg Injuries Podcast. I'd like to thank all the subscribers who've been listening and all the people who've emailed me with comments, I appreciate it all.

This week I begin the 14th series of podcasts this one is called The Domestic Abyss. The first episode is called "Movements In One Place" which is an epic 18 minute compostion made up of recordings of vibrating pot lids. This series is about an exploration of the removal of context from everyday sounds and how that results in a surrealism that exists all around. I hope you enjoy this series.

You'll also notice above the blog we've added a Google Custom Search Engine to help you find OKSRNA material on this site and others that have covered our music. Also, we've made it easier for social bookmarking fans to bookmark our site with a drop down menu that allows you to bookmark us with ease.

El Plan De Aguavodka gives us the third part of his Interrogation series and delivers dream-like haze of voices and field recordings. The Unevenness Of The Moon's Surface continues his morphing field recordings into detuned saxophone solos with his latest and hilariously titled "You Need To Speak With A Rate Specialist". The UMS has been on a great run of podcasts that distort sounds of the everday grind of office work in something quite strange and wonderful.

Other than that, everyone should see the film Borat, it could quite possibly be the funniest film I've seen in my entire life. Since I've just turned 30, and am getting up there in age, as well as having taught a Film History course, I've seen a fair number of films, so there might actually be a minute amount of gravitas to my opinion.

Have a great week, vote on Tuesday for anyone who doesn't support the president and we'll see you next week.
