Monday, September 17, 2007Update 9/17![]() This weekend I took part in something of an Austin tradition, the Austin City Limits festival. Only there for the Sunday line-up, I caught Common, Lucinda Williams, Wilco, The Decemberists, and I stuck around for few songs of Dylan's set. I'm a fan of Dylan's but outdoor festivals are extremely draining and let's just say a set by Bob Dylan should never be comparable to ODB, Napalm Death or Cookie Monster. I also found a decent amount of new music that I quite enjoyed (Devotchka, Midlake, Ghostland Observatory). However, there's very little Americana in our podcasts this week, though after Wilco's great set I can see how one could aspire to be Neil Young, and Thurston Moore. The Painful Leg Injuries continue our latest series of Instant Compositions for Gameboy with ICGB5. Little Ricky's House of Chankletas' latest is easy like Monday morning, It's Sunday That Changes Everything. El Plan De Aguavodka gives us a razor sharp drone piece by twisting his oscillator tone and Casio VL1 keyboard into a violin. Reminds me of a Harry Bertoia sound sculpture piece, another amazing EPDA podcast. Alex Spalding also has a rising crescendo piece with his latest The Vertical. Have a great week.
