Update 1/29

One month is already almost over in this new year. In New York, winter just arrived a week ago, welcome, this is the future.

New podcasts this week. The Painful Leg Injuries' unleash a nasty monster with the fourth part of the Pretentious One Man Band Series. El Plan De Aguavodka delivers a wonderful track of hazy sunrise into a sunset with his latest podcast Charcoal Study of Pablo's La Vie Part 1. Jez Stevens' latest part of his Janus series is lovely cavern of echoes.

Other news on the horizon, Marco Oppedisano, John Ibarra (of El Plan De Aguavodka), and I have been rehearsing our improvising trio, and the results of the sessions has been so positive it looks like a full length album is likely. To see the live debut of our electroacoustic trio, come out to the Monkey in NYC on February 2nd. To get your advance tickets click here.

OKSRNA will be releasing a collection of Marco Oppedisano's electrocacoustic compositions in the Spring. Also be on the lookout for The Painful Leg Injuries' 3" CD-R on the Hong Kong based Lona Records entitled The Quicker Are The Encumbered which will be released in March or April.

Stay tuned to this blog or all OKSRNA news. Take care.

Update 1/22

Welcome back again, everyone.

Don't forget that we're just under a month from El Plan De Aguavodka, the Painful Leg Injuries and Marco Oppedisano's performance at NYC's The Monkey on February 17th. Don't miss it, in addition to the three sets there will a fourth set in which you will witness the debut of the three artists' improvising trio.
Order your advance ticket by clicking here.

New podcasts this week, El Plan De Aguavodka continues his "Drawing" with Drawing: La Maja de Nadie, a swirling space that draws you in. Jez Stevens continues his Janus series with Janus Part 2 which begins as skittery collection of crickets at night and concludes as a lovely spatial drone. The Painful Leg Injuries deliver a mutated moster of feedback with the third part of the Pretentious One Man Band.

Take care.

Update 1/15

Welcome back.

Check out the review of the Painful Leg Injuries new album on the Smooth Assailing Blog.

This week's new podcasts are quite the diverse bunch. Check out the gorgeous premiere episode of the Jez Stevens Podcast. Janus is a series of interpreted photos of music television, and Jez's Janus 1 a beautiful, cold space that immerses you completely. Please note, until Apple lists Jez's podcast, there's no one link subscribe button.

So in order to subscribe, click the subscribe button under the Jez Stevens Podcast heading on this page, copy the RSS address, go to iTunes, and click Subscribe to Podcast under the Advanced heading at the top of the screen. Then paste the RSS feed in the window
that asks you for a URL. I'll change this button in about a week when iTunes lists Jez's podcast.

El Plan De Aguavodka, gives us an opposite extreme with Seven Drawings of the Birds that Build the Trees. It starts out with a nice a day at the park and turns into something... else. Don't miss this one, it will crush you.

The Painful Leg Injuries strap on that sad one-man-band suit and give us another beret- wearing episode of the Pretentious One Man Band series. This episode focuses on some very strange voices.

Enjoy the week and until next week, be well.

Update 1/8

Welcome back from the holidays. Lots of news to report. First, welcome to our new website. You'll see new artist pages for Little Ricky's House Chankletas, Marco Oppedisano and Jez Stevens. Also stay tuned throughout the new few weeks as there will be lots of new content.

Next, the new Painful Leg Injuries album,
If The Devil's In The Details, Then How Many Details Can You Fit Upon A Match? is now available for download from iTunes. Click here to launch iTunes and download the latest PLI album.

And finally there's new podcasts. Stay tuned as we work out a little technical problem with the new Jez Stevens Podcast. The Painful Leg Injuries begin the 15th podcast series, The Pretentious One Man Band, which are live improvisations of electronics and morphed instruments. El Plan De Aguavodka gives us a lovely crackling fire place (a la Xenakis's Perisopolis) as a sketch is made with Five Profane Drawings.

Take care and have a productive and enjoyable 2007.
