Monday, April 23, 2007Update 4/23Another new video this week as part of Painful Leg Injuries Podcast Series, Conducted By The Wind. This episode is called Weeds Between Rocks. The music in this one is deep thick drone interrupted by abrupt stops. El Plan De Aguavodka's latest podcast, entitled John Wayne Plays Genghis Khan In Space, how it could it possibly be less than perfect? Foxy Digitalis, EPDA is gaming on your song titles list for 2007. Until next week. Monday, April 16, 2007Update 4/16This week marks the beginning of the 17th Painful Leg Injuries Podcast Series, Conducted By The Wind. This is definitely going to be an unusual series, for this series I will premiere a new music video for each episode. The series is in five parts, each is a manipulated video where I used the special effects technique of "motion tracking" to follow points in the video such as a highlight. These points were converted to number values that are then applied to the sound, to give itvarying levels of reverb and other effects. The sound is then converted back into keyframes which are used to further alter the video. The first episode is called A Budding Green. El Plan De Aguavodka's latest podcast, Street Is A Jungle, is the sound of serenity being consumed the power of nature. The chirps of birds get sucked into the inevitable vortex. Over the past weekend I had the great pleasure of resuming work on the Harmful Free Radicals project with my old friend and label co-runner Jonah Goldstein. As some of you know this is the project that started the whole label. It's also been hanging in the air forever and finally is nearing completion. It's very different from our work as The Painful Leg Injuries and The Unevenness of the Moon's Surface as the material is song-based. We finally have a sampling of this project available. It's called Truthbombs and Potatoes. It's a very freaky-nightmarish noise jam that could quite possibly be the absolute worst techno song ever recorded, which to us, is a great thing. It's sounds nothing like our upcoming album Duplicate Factories of Washington State but the track itself is a blast. Click here to download Truthbombs and Potatoes. New PLI video and podcasts next week. Monday, April 09, 2007Update 4/9 Welcome back. I'm still a little jet-lagged from my trip back from Sicily, but I had a lovely time. None the worse for wear. I definitely made enough field recordings do a podcast series. There will definitely be photos and music related to this trip on the site in the weeks to come. We've gotten some new press while I was away from the Modisti website. They've got reviews posted of the the new Painful Leg Injuries album and our label comp Men In White Coats. There's no direct links but there are links on the front page of their site. New podcasts from PLI and El Plan De Aguavodka are now posted. Take care, until next week.
