Monday, September 22, 2008Update 9/22 Welcome back again. This week there's lots of great news to report.First, now available at CD Baby.com is the new album of solo works by Marco Oppedisano. His second full length solo recording, and his third record with OKSRNA, Marco's new solo works are nothing short of mind-blowing. Click here to get your copy of Marco Oppedisano's The Ominous Corner. The Ominous Corner marks very new territory for Marco. His work has become more focused, centering around his live playing. His musique concrète constructions are a jumping off point; a foundation for his mastery. He has processed his influences, such as Fred Frith, Marc Ribot and David Torn, and lifted his stylized playing into a symphonic grandeur along the lines of Mahler, particularly in the album’s title track. Get your copy today! In other big news, Suzanne and I will be performing at Austin's 2008 Maker Faire. This is the Painful Leg Injuries' first live show in almost a year! The Maker Faire will be taking place on October 17th and 18th at Austin's Travis County Fairgrounds, here's a link to more info. I'll post the actual schedule times when I know them, we are very excited to be playing live again. Still more good news to report, also this week our good friend Barry Seroff, will begin a new six part podcast series of his amazing trio including avant-jazz, New York underground legend, Daniel Carter on reeds and trumpet, as well as Ken Schalk on drums and percussion. Roundtable is the first part, and it's quite awesome. This series is called Unassigned from a session on May 28th 2008. The Painful Leg Injuries Podcast this week is the second episode of the latest series, Bent Synth Guitar Solos. With my amazing synth guitar the Unisynth XG-1 , with two added switches, I go on a explosive spacey-meltdown. Also new this week is the latest episode of the El Plan De Aguavodka Podcast, the lovely little melodic number I'm Not Sure What You Meant.Until next week be well.
