Update 7/29

Our latest podcasts are now up!

First this week, is 5 = The Floo the fifth episode of the Painful Leg Injuries Podcast series called Improper Fractions. I used a Max/MSP patch I designed to generate MIDI notes in a way where I could make adjustments to the range and speed of the randomness it generates. Enjoy!

Next Barry Seroff's latest series focuses on his duo with Stefan Paolini, Lapis. This episode 1/29/09 #2 Part 2 comes from the same sessions as their debut album, A Path Toward Solace.

El Plan De Aguavodka is away this week, John returns next week. Until then, be well.

Update 7/21

Welcome back everyone.

I wanted to start off this week by thanking Dave and everyone from Game Over Videogames for having me perform at their Classic Game Fest Joust tournament this past Friday. I had no idea how a crowd of gamers would take to my blitzkrieg of warring Gameboys, and I am glad that so many enjoyed my set.

I got a quite a nice mention on the Busy Gamer blog, check it out.

On to this week's podcasts. First up, the latest from my band, The Painful Leg Injuries is frog * x = windchimes the fourth episode of my latest podcast series, Improper Fractions. This epsiode was done using my generative MaxMSP patch controlling samplers with short clips of my voice. The title leads you what to imagine as far as what my voice started sounding like.

El Plan De Aguavodka's latest episode is Fire Working for the Weekenders a treated cell phone memo recording of fireworks that is oddly percussive and highly enjoyable.

Barry Seroff's latest podcast is 1/28/09 #2 pt 1 more from the Lapis sessions. If have not done so yet check out Barry's latest OKSRNA release a collab with long time cohort, Stefan Paolini. Click here to order your copy of Lapis' A Path Toward Solace.

Until next week, take care.

Update 7/17

Welcome back!

Our summer break is now over we have a new release available from Lapis, our good friend flautist Barry Seroff's latest project with pianist Stefan Paolini. Lapis is a duo that channels a laundry list of influences (think Shoenberg and Metallica) into a concentrated blend that really doesn't sound like anything else that bears the improvised tag. Click here to listen to Pull The Trigger. To order your copy click here.

If you'd like more of a taste of what Lapis is all about, check out Barry Seroff's latest podcast episode 1_28_09 #1 Part 2.

Also this week the latest from El Plan De Aguavodka, John mixes two different, contradictory forms of tape with a surprsingly gorgeous result. His latest podcast is a treated field recording of a tape deck being wrapped with scotch tape called Clear Make Not Clear.

Also this week is the latest from the Painful Leg Injuries, r(r)=r*r-r*r the third episode of their series of generative compositions called Improper Fractions. Enjoy!
